Freshman in ’59 is Carlisle resident Francine Moody’s first novel, which she will be celebrating with a book signing & discussion at Cornerstone. Francine was inspired to write this work of historical fiction by the unlikely discovery of her high school diary. She will be available the afternoon of December 14 to answer questions about the trials & successes of writing her first novel; growing up with black & white television & rotary phones; and the timeless travails of being young.

Join Lynn Shiner, Nancy Chavez and Nancy Eshelman as they talk about why they wrote the book Stabbed In the Heart; Three Murdered Children, Two Resilient Mothers together, what they hope others will learn from reading it, what makes the book unique and more.
Dina and Sheila knitted hats, made teddy bears, and crafted beads to benefit Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry Counties at Cornerstone in October. Together, they raised $946 that was donated to DVSCP, while raising also awareness.
