Here is a recent Q&A with Sue Marrazzo –

Tell us briefly about your background & how you got started in your medium.
I am an artist who works as an experimental mixed media artist by choice. I like the fact that I am always learning, growing and I have no boundaries. I use all mediums of art, and combine all of them.

How does your medium inform your viewpoint? Or what do you like most about your medium?
Mixed media allows me to express myself while using all kinds of art supplies, and art mediums. I like to create using recycled papers, along with acrylics, and more. By experimenting, I stay new, and current. This is important as an artist and art instructor.

Who or what have been your artistic inspirations?
My artistic inspiration comes from art history, my students, colors, and textures, and the world around me.

Do you have a favorite piece in your portfolio?
One of my favorite mixed media paintings is “Nightscape,” a large abstract landscape work.

What would be your advice to artists just starting out in your medium?
My advice to other artists, would be to expose yourself to all mediums; take classes, go to art shows, galleries, museums, read and study art history, and create art. Do something creative each and everyday.
