A tribute to a wonderful employee
Many of you know Luke, he’s here almost every day- and he has been since 2008. He’s taken some breaks in the years, trying out new things, new jobs and so on and so forth. But for the majority of these past six years, Luke has been here at Cornerstone slinging coffee.
Most of the current staff working here has been trained by Luke. He’s literally taught us everything he knows. He’s been our resident “expert” and jack of all trades. He’s been our handyman, our teacher and our co-worker. But most of all, Luke has been a friend to everyone. He’s patiently (ok, sort of patiently…can’t tell a lie) taught us and explained things to us newbies over and over again. He is always willing to lend a listening ear, and always willing to help when he can. He got married in 2011, to a wonderful woman named Kristen and they welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Aya, into the world about a year later.
It has been a privilege to work with Luke and watch him grow in his work and in his life. He is someone I have and will always look up to. I will be sad to see him go as he moves on to the next chapter in his life. Luke has accepted a new job and he and his family will be moving. We are so excited to send him off on this new adventure, but we will definitely be losing a part of the Cornerstone family. Luke’s last day will be this Friday, August 22nd. Make sure you stop in and send him off with some kind words!
