March Artist of the Month, Vivian Sterste
 
Vivian Sterste“A native of central Pa., Vivian Sterste-Brandler’s style reflects her ever-changing awe and delight at the bounty of beauty that life brings to her. No matter what media, be it oils, watercolors, pastels, clay, photography or even in her writing, her work reflects the special vision that’s a combination of an angelic child’s guileless wonder coupled with an old soul’s shrewd and deep perception. Vivi feels what she creates……it’s a very special thing to watch her works emerge into the dynamic and expressive pieces that chronicle her flights of inspiration.”

A graduate of The Shipley School, Bryn Mawr Pa., Vivian also attended the Boston University School for the Arts, the National Academy of Design in New York City and earned dual degrees, B.S.’s in Art and Elementary Education from Lesley College, Cambridge Massachusetts. She is an active member of S.V.P.A.P (Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters), CALC (Carlisle Arts Learning Center), AAH (Art Association of Harrisburg) and The Art Center School and Galleries of Mechanicsburg, Pa.

Vivian’s ceramic art and drawings can currently be seen at Brath and Hughes Fine Art LLC, 41 West Main Street Mechancisburg, Pa. She has an impressive portfolio of image files of her photography and is able to fill orders for wall sized reproductions as well as standard size pictures. She maintains her studios at her rural Dillsburg farm home and teaches private pottery lessons. She also is beginning production of colorful majolica pottery work for Fleurir, a New York Times, Top Ten nationally rated gourmet chocolate shop in Washington D.C. At the present time she is continuing to work on an extensive commissioned garden series in oil and pastel for a special client. She has participated in every Camp Hill Plein Air Festival and hopes to meet everyone there again this summer!
